With Sun Setting on 42nd Parliament, Benson Urges Action from Liberals
I welcome all Liberal MPs to Saskatoon, and wish them well as they plan their legislative agenda for the final year of this Parliament. We want to make sure that the growing concerns of my constituents are discussed around that table.

SASKATOON – With Parliament set to resume on September 17th, MP Sheri Benson (Saskatoon West) and Leader of the Canada’s NDP, Jagmeet Singh, have written to Prime Minister Trudeau urging him to finally deliver on key priorities for the constituents of Saskatoon West.
Their letter recounts Benson’s tireless efforts to work with the government, and is an honest plea for action. Benson and Singh urge collaboration, and remind the Liberals that they have just one year to:
Fix the public transit crisis facing the people of Saskatchewan,
Deliver accessible and effective government services,
Introduce proactive pay equity legislation,
Reverse funding cuts to HIV/AIDS organizations in Saskatchewan,
Implement a national pharmacare plan, and,
Legislate the right to housing as a human right in Canada.
“Liberals have one year left to deliver the bold, progressive agenda that they touted in 2015,” said Benson. “Jagmeet and I remain ready to work with them to help make people’s lives better in Saskatoon West.”
Before returning to Ottawa, the Liberals are hosting a caucus retreat in Saskatoon, beginning on September 11th. Singh and Benson are eager to see the government take meaningful action the people of Saskatchewan count on.
