We know that Canada's population is aging. With the first of the baby boom generation now reaching 65, there has been increasing discussion among parliamentarians about seniors care and a strategy involving the federal, provincial and territorial governments. Currently 16% of Canadians are over age 65, and that number is expected to grow to almost a quarter of the population by 2036.
I believe that the time has come to hear from my constituents on how we can work together to make this constituency more age friendly. With the negotiation of a new Health Accord underway between the federal, provincial and territorial governments, the timing could not be better to come up with solutions for how to respond to the health care needs of seniors in our constituency.
Starts: October 3rd, 2016 - 6:30pm
Where: Station 20 West
The electoral reform process currently underway in Canada is a historic moment. Our current electoral system is outdated and doesn’t justly represent the will of the people.
We want to help you understand what this means for you and hear what you have to say.
